Celebrating the Filipinx-Montrealer experience!

SHOWPAO is a wordplay on the word siopao, a Philippine indigenized version of the Cantonese steamed bun called cha siu bao. It was popularized by Cantonese immigrant, Ma Mon Luk, who moved to Binondo, Manila as a street vendor and later, a restaurant owner. The history of siopao is a mirror to the Filipinx-Montrealer experience as Canadian immigrants and our diversity and influence of different cultures common in Philippine history.
